Common mistakes
Skipped the blind-spot shoulder check
Road test: 10 points — D5 Fails to observe conditions/late
Nothing happened this time, but it still counts against you. Before moving off into a turn, do a shoulder check toward the turn to cover the blind spot: pedestrians and cyclists coming up behind on that side can't be seen ahead or in the mirrors; skip that look and they may step onto the crosswalk just as you move off, and you hit them.

Road test: 10 points — D9 Right turn - wrong lane - before/after
Nothing happened this time, but it still counts against you. A right turn must end in the lane closest to the curb; swinging into the inner lane takes the lane an oncoming left-turner is supposed to turn into.
