Going straight, red light, first car stopped at the stop line + a cross-traffic car can't stop for its yellow and drives through in front of you + scan left and right before the green + go as soon as it turns green
Common mistakes
Didn't scan left and right before moving off
Road test: 10 points — D5 Fails to observe conditions/late
Nothing happened this time, but it still counts against you. Before moving off on a fresh green, scan left and right: a cross-traffic car may still be coming through at the end of its yellow, or even running the red, and pedestrians may still be in the intersection; move off without looking and, by the time you see it, you're already across its path, the classic side impact.
